Alecia’s employer has a party specifically for the children.  Santa makes a visit, and brings an early gift for the kiddies.

Well, so winter has decided to rear it’s ugly self once again.  It it weren’t for all the other ‘challenged’ drivers on the road, I might actually enjoy winter.

What I hate about winter:

1) Trying to get the kids off to school/daycare, and trying to clear the driveway before driving on it.

2) All the extra clothing needed to stay warm

3) The fact that it’s impossible to keep your vehicle clean!  (I really hate driving a dirty car)

Certainly there are other little annoyances like the fact that it gets dark at 5pm.  ARGH!

Cindy McCain’s outfit cost $300,000.00, yes Three Hundred Thousand Dollars.  Now I’m not taking sides or anything.  I guess if she wants to flaunt how much money she and John have, so be it.    Just think how many people with flooded homes could be helped, with just the cost of one outfit.

Summer has been crazy busy.  Haven’t posted in a while Should have some time tonight to get some summer photos on and post the latest update on my dad.

The snow is finally going away.  Temps have finally risen above 10 degrees, and we have made it into the 30′s, 40′s and possibly the 50′s tomorrow.  Now everyone gets to see how bad the roads have become here in Cedar Rapids. 

In my opinion our local street department, did a horendous job of clearing the roads this year.  I sold my pickup for a more fuel efficient car, just before all the snow.   While driving a large 4 wheel drive, you don’t notice how horrible the roads are.  I certainly feel for all the car owners who have suffered damage to thier cars.

Here it is, If you know me, you know I really despise this day. I consider it to be just a made up holiday, that Brach’s, FTD, Hallmark, and some jeweler made up years ago. Let’s just push and push with all the advertising, buy this, and buy that for your sweetheart, and if you don’t well, don’t blame us for being in the dog house.

I’m sure there are lots of men that really can’t stand this day, unless you really like spending money on inflated gifts. Look at roses for example, 3 weeks before this day, you buy a dozen for $9.99 , and Hmm suddenly they are 49.99 for this “special” day. Reason is always supply and demand, but there always seems to be enough to go around.  It’s a lot like gasoline, one can never really understand the price swings.

How about a “holiday” that caters to men?

Yes,  That’s right,  it is SNOWING AGAIN!  Another 3-6 inches expected again.  I wonder if this has anything to do with Global Warming.

Yet another day, of new snow. When it’s time to shovel the drive, I often ask myself, why in the world to I live here. I really hate shoveling all this white stuff. I measured 16 inches in this latest round, I still don’t have the driveway all clear. Can’t wait til spring gets here, in the mean time we make do, and try to enjoy it the best we can.
